Karonda (Carissa carandasL.), a hardy shrub from the Apocynaceae family, is native to arid and semi-arid regions of South Asia. Despite its resilience and rich nutritional profile, it remains underutilized in sustainable farming systems. This paper explores the biological characteristics and agricultural potential of Karonda, emphasizing its adaptability to harsh environments, nutritional benefits, and role in sustainable agriculture. By integrating Karonda into farming systems, there is potential to enhance biodiversity, improve soil health, and provide economic benefits to rural communities. The study advocates for increased research and policy support to promote Karonda cultivation as a sustainable agricultural practice.
