Abstract:

The increasing globalization of populations and its outcome on biodiversity, particularly in the context of India, have raised significant concerns. This review search into the multifaceted spider contribute significantly to agroecosystem, emphasizing their importance in maintaining ecosystem balance and agricultural sustainability. Spiders exhibit diverse ecological traits and interact intricately with crop ecosystems, influencing pest populations, nutrient cycling and overall ecosystem health. Instead of solely relying on chemical pesticides, it's essential to incorporate integrated pest management strategies for effective pest control. However, agricultural intensification, pesticide use, and habitat degradation pose significant threats to spider populations and biodiversity in agroecosystems: seasonal variations, landscape heterogeneity, and environmental factors further influence spider diversity and abundance. Conservation efforts are crucial to safeguarding spider populations and maintaining ecological balance within agricultural landscapes. Promoting sustainable agriculture practices and decreasing dependence on chemicals inputs are imperative for fostering resilient agroecosystems and ensuring long-term food security while conserving biodiversity. Enhancing our understanding of spider diversity and ecology in agroecosystems is essential for informed decision-making and effective management strategies to achieve sustainable agriculture and preserve ecosystem health for future generations.
