The evolutionary relationships, taxonomy, and reproductive techniques of flowering plants can be gleaned from pollen morphology. This study aims to clarify the structural diversity and possible evolutionary implications of the pollen morphology of some polypetalous taxa. We examined pollen grains from representative species in several families. Using simple mounting, acetolysis and permanent slides preparation, cutting-edge microscopic techniques, noting differences in size, shape, aperture type, and exine ornamentation. The results further our knowledge of the taxonomic and evolutionary importance of pollen features in plants that are polypetalous.
